Simple Still Life

Learn the basics of still life painting using minimal supplies! The focus of the demonstration is on a simple still life of an orange, which will help you learn color theory, mixing colors, and brush techniques.

In this video, I will guide you through a Simple Still Life Demonstration! You can use easily obtainable supplies or work with what you have. Painting a basic still life, such as an orange, will help you grasp color theory and brush techniques. The skills acquired can be applied to more complex artworks. Here's everything you need to know

Supplies

  1.  Pthalo Blue (red shade)
  2.  Hansa Yellow Opaque
  3.  Primary Magenta
  4.  Titanium White
  5.  Burnt Umber
  6.  I use bright brushes size 8 + 10, but use whatever feels most comfortable
  7.  Palette - any kind is okay, we love a good glass palette, but even a paper plate works!
  8.  Rags
  9.  Water
  10.  Canvas, Mixed Media Paper, Panel. I am painting on an 8x8 size, but use whatever you feel comfortable with!
